Wollongong Off Road Duathlon

Full Course Duathlon

Course: 6km Run – 8km Ride – 3.5k Run
Age Category: 16 years and over only
Start/Finish Line: Towradgi Park
Bikes to Transition Area: By 8.05am
Marshal to Start: 8.10 am
Race Commences: 8.30am

First Stage Run 6km
Terrain: Undulating. Paved, grass, beach track, beach sand

Commencing at Towradgi Park (START) you will follow the existing cycle path north through Bellambi Recreational Park to Bellambi Point;

The route then turns south at Robert Cram Road back through Bellambi Recreational Park, via a beach track down to Corrimal Beach;

You will then follow the full length of Corrimal Beach over a water crossing and back to Towradgi Park via a dune track to the TRANSITION AREA where you will pick up your off-road bike for the second stage of the Duathlon.

Second Stage Ride 8km
Terrain: Flat. Paved, beach and bush tracks

Continuing south from the TRANSITION AREA you will follow a public cycle path to Puckey’s Estate where you will then take an official beachside track through Puckeys Estate (Fairy Meadow);

The Beach track will take along the length of Puckey’s Estate finishing short of Stuart Park, over the Parra Creek bridge to join the Wollongong cycleway.

The route then turns north along Squires Way (North Wollongong) and right at the corner of Elliotts Road and Carters Lane to follow the cycleway back to Towradgi Park where you will drop off your bike back to the TRANSITION AREA to commence the third and final stage of your Duathlon

Third Stage Run 3.5km
Terrain: Flat. Grass, paved, beach sand and beach track

Commencing from the TRANSITION AREA the final run will follow around the Towradgi Park sports field and onto the cycle path that takes you north and then east along Murray Road to the Bellambi Lagoon outlet.

You will then turn south for a last beach run along Corrimal Beach to the FINISH line at Towradgi Park.
